Ernest "Ego" Plum (born February 27, 1975) is a Cuban-American musician, award-winning composer, and producer from Los Angeles. He composed the end credit theme song for Star vs. the Forces of Evil.

Career[]

Ego Plum has recorded, performed, and collaborated with artists such as David J (Bauhaus/Love & Rockets), Frank Black (Pixies), Steve Bartek & Johnny Vatos (Oingo Boingo), Gidget Gein (Marilyn Manson), and Genesis P. Orridge (Throbbing Gristle/Psychic TV). Ego Plum performs live with his group Ebola Music Orchestra and toured the United States playing guitar with the Grammy-nominated, comedy-rock group Green Jëlly.

He caught the attention of Nickelodeon in 2008 and was hired to compose music for Amy Winfrey's hit series, Making Fiends, which aired around the world. Ego's musical subversions can be heard on everything from KROQ radio bumpers to television commercials to fashion shows. In 2011, he was presented with an Ovation Honor by the Los Angeles Stage Alliance for his Russian-inspired, mechanical musical score & original songs for the Gogol Project. Most recently, Ego Plum completed his first orchestral score for Paul Bunnell's black & white, 35mm indie feature, The Ghastly Love of Johnny X, starring Kevin McCarthy, Creed Bratton, and Academy-Award Winner Paul Williams.
