The Shard Mines are gemstone mines located in Pixtopia where Star Butterfly, Marco Diaz, and their friends are forced to work off Star's magic mirror bill in "Pixtopia".
The Pixie taskmaster oversees the work in the Shard Mines, whipping any workers who are slacking off or refusing to work. A satyr and wizard are also shown to have been working here. There are cart tracks spread throughout the mines, one of which goes directly inside the Pixie Empress's castle.
The mines block magic, rendering Star unable to use any spells with her wand.
